The program is a paid, semester-long commitment (in addition to academic research responsibilities). InnovAGE fellows will gain business skills including competitive analysis, analytical marketing, regulatory strategy, reimbursement strategy, intellectual property and other legal matters, and financing a venture. InnovAGE helps graduate students and postdoctoral researchers understand what it takes to move discoveries beyond the lab and toward the people who could benefit. Through mentorship and sessions on commercialization, fellows learn to: - **Refine an innovation:** Explore the needs it could address and the people it could serve. - **Understand the path to market:** Learn how regulatory requirements, reimbursement, and funding shape development. - **Make their research resonate:** Develop a clear, compelling pitch for audiences beyond their field. - **Explore career possibilities:** Build an understanding of how research becomes a product, whether pursuing entrepreneurship, industry, or academia.
